Fossa Rowing Club heads North

Fossa Rowing Club was well represented in Glenarm!

As the dust settles on another fantastic All Ireland Championship and all our crews are finally home, we would like to say a huge well done to one and all who represented the club in Glenarm at the weekend. A long road trip Antrim did not stop us sending up a boat and in the end over 60 people made the trip to take part, support our crews and enjoy the weekend.

In all we had 30 rowers taking part in 14 different crews. We had 12 underage, 7 men and 9 women as well as our awesome 3 coxes Patie Tagney, Laura Whelton and Conor Coffey. A huge thanks to Declan Madden, Donal Daly and Kieran Coffey for looking after everyone over the weekend. A special thanks to Declan and Tim who brought the boat to Glenarm, not with out drama as they suffered a puncture on the 9 hour trip up on Thursday!

A huge thanks to all who took part. We had U14 boys and U14 girls who were the youngest crews representing the club, a testament to all the hard work done over the winter by Declan, Kieran, Steven, Donal, Conor, Alison and Laura. All we can say is we are so proud of the underage crews who represented the club with pride and thoroughly enjoyed their trip topped off with a trip to Giants causeway on Friday.

Thanks to our committee and logistics behind the scenes for gathering equipment, sorting the boat, getting everything ready to send our club en masse to the other side of the isle. A huge thanks also to the parents and supporters who cheered our crews on and thanks to the Irish Coastal Rowing Federation and Kerry Coastal Rowing Federation for the hard work done.

Finally, thanks to every single rower who represented the club with pride and were fantastic ambassadors for the club while up North. We are so proud of every single one of you!
