-How long have you been rowing?
I have been rowing since I was 12 years old I still remember the first Sunday morning my mom dropped me off at the fossa shore and I have been hooked since
-What’s your lifestyle?
I am insurance advisor with FBD so office work and wfh
- what’s your favourite boat?
My favorite boat is either the Lelia our traditional killarney six boat or the Kathleen the FISA boat
- what are you excited about for rowing this year/ what are your goals?
I am really excited for the Killarney Regatta this year it’s a goal of mine for fossa to win the senior ladies race, this could be the year I am also looking forward to the all Irelands in Bantry this year hopefully we will make the podium in a few categories
- what’s your favourite thing about rowing?
I love Sunday mornings out on the lake when the lake is like glass, there is no where else as calming or as beautiful as that. I also love the great friends I’ve made from rowing they have become more like a family to me and of course the nights out are always brilliant craic.
-favourite rowing memory?
I have a lot of favorite rowing memories but if I had to mention one it would be DD Leahy (RIP) teaching us how to row when we were underage he had great patience
-favourite short rowing story?
It was the Kerry coastal rowing championships when we were under 16 and the steer fell off at the start of the race the boat halted to a stop we couldn’t believe it but Pattie Tangney managed to get the steer back on the rest of the boats were halfway down the course but we rowed on with temper and managed to catch them and ended up winning the race.
-Fun fact about you?
I can row with my eyes closed thanks to Donal Daly
-Greatest rowing achievement?
My greatest rowing achievement would be winning the J16 girls all Ireland coastal rowing many moons ago and winning the Junior Ladies coastal rowing race in Dingle they were extra special
