And we are back with our weekly Team Thursday and this week it’s the turn of our one of our awesome Underage crew - Orla Daly.

• How Long have you been rowing? 

I started rowing in september 2024. My brother, cousins and friend had just joined before me and they loved it so i thought i’d give it a go.  We were indoor rowing at the time. I was hooked straight away.

• Whats your lifestyle.

I’m a student in Fossa N.S.

• Whats your favourite boat?

Definitely the coastal boat, it was the first boat I learned to row in and have many fun memories rowing it out on the lake.

•  what  are you excited about for rowing this year/ what are your goals?

I'm excited about getting back out on the lake with my teammates and making more memories, getting stronger at my rowing and most importantly having the craic down by the lake with everyone.

• Whats your favourite thing about rowing? 

Its definately having the craic with everyone in our underage crew

• Whats your favourite regatta?

Flesk regatta, it’s nice and close and we always have a bunch of fun.

•Whats your favourite rowing memory?

My first regatta in flesk. I rowed in the U12 boys category, as there werent enough girls and boys at the time. We had a team of 3 girls and 1 boy, we came first in our heat and 4th overall.

•Favourite short rowing story? 

Out on the lake on a calm evening, rowing the coastal boat. We were following a family of ducks and we had great fun naming them, we also saw heaps of fish. 

• Fun fact about you? 

I’m a 3rd generation rower in my family. My nana and grandad met through rowing, and most of my aunts and uncles rowed. There is a coastal slider named after my nana Magaret.

•Greatest rowing achievement? 

Winning 2 gold medals this year at flesk indoor U12 in the 500m and 3 mins.
